Premier and Developmental PremierTeams
The Soccer Club of Guilford offers the opportunity to try-out and participate in what is referred to as “Premier” level of play.
Although the term “Premier” is defined by State and National rules as simply the formation of teams without the restriction of any residency rules, Premier teams usually participate at a level of competition beyond that of the club’s District Recreational teams (made up of local players only).
The U11 & U12 8v8 age bracket is considered in our club Premier Developmental and is comprised ONLY of in-town players. Teams at this level will be placed in one of the District Comp divisions based on ability. This is the next level of play after District Rec. Due to the state moving towards 8v8 play at these two levels, roster requirements are smaller and therefore less players would have the opportunity to play at the Comp level. Because of this, our Club decided to field two teams at each age level. The Club recognizes that players develop at all different stages and we want to offer training to as many players who want to play at that next level.
The Premier teams provide both Guilford and out-of-town players with the opportunity to participate in CJSA’s highest level state-wide Premier league and to compete regularly for state and regional honors. Our goal is to provide high level training by paid coaches who have played and competed both at the high school and college level if not beyond.
Commitment at this level consists of two practices a week, plus one game (at times two) on the weekend during the fall and spring season. The teams will participate in a winter indoor session along with several tournaments in and out of the state throughout the year. Mandatory one-hour weekly practice will be conducted from January until the first weekend of the Spring season.
For the Fall 2009 / Spring 2010 season the cost to participate in this program is $975.00, Spring season only, fees are $750.00, uniform and tournament travel fees are not included.

The goal of the Guilford Premier program is to provide high-level training and coaching to as many Guilford Players as possible, while maintaining competitive teams in the 1st and 2nd Divisions of the CJSA State League.
Specifically, we will seek to maintain teams that will qualify for the upper two divisions of this league annually, with the overall program target being for teams to place in the mid to upper levels of the Premier League 2nd Division.
