​Disciplinary Policy

In an effort to sustain the spirit of the game and to assist soccer officials with the control and safety of the sport, The Soccer Club of Guilford, has implemented the following:
  1. The establishment of a Disciplinary Committee will be appointed annually.
    1. The committee will consist of five voting members and the sitting President will be a non-voting member.
    2. The committee will be chaired by the current Vice President or other Presidential appointee and consist of the Girl's & Boy's Coordinator and two additional members appointed by the Chairman, with a least one appointee being a non-board member.
    3. Committee members may excuse themselves or may be replaced by the chairman in the event of a perceived conflict of interest.
  2. The committee will meet for the following instances:
    1. When a red card is issued to any player or coach
    2. If any other disciplinary matter is brought to the attention of the Executive Board that involves a coach, parent or player registered with the Soccer Club of Guilford.
  3. The basic disciplinary policy shall read as follows:
    1. In addition to the mandatory suspension of a player from a subsequent "like" game(s) that may be imposed by another authority upon receipt of the red card, a supplemental suspension shall be voted upon, but not limited to an occurrence when:
      1. A player receives a red card for fighting
      2. The committee votes by majority to impose such a suspension for any other disciplinary matter.
  4. Rights of the Player and Authority of the Committee:
    1. A player will be notified when a hearing is to be conducted regarding a disciplinary matter involving them, so that they may attend the hearing and present a statement on their own behalf.
    2. A player may have a parent(s) present, and in some instances, the committee may require such.
    3. A majority vote by the committee will be considered final.
